Dump and Bake Meatball Casserole

Ingredients:

  1. Pre-cooked meatballs (frozen or homemade) – about 32 meatballs
  2. Uncooked pasta (like penne, rotini, or similar) – 1 pound
  3. Jar of marinara sauce – 24 ounces
  4. Water – 3 cups
  5. Shredded mozzarella cheese – 2 cups
  6. Grated Parmesan cheese – ½ cup
  7. Optional: dried herbs like basil or oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: In a large baking dish, combine the uncooked pasta, frozen meatballs, marinara sauce, and water. Mix well to ensure the pasta is fully coated with the sauce. If you’re using any optional seasonings, add them here.
  3. Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the pasta is almost tender.
  4. Add Cheese: Remove the dish from the oven, uncover, and stir. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.
  5. Bake Uncovered: Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the pasta is tender.
  6. Serve: Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes after taking it out of the oven. Serve warm.

Tips:

  • If using homemade meatballs, ensure they are cooked before adding them to the casserole.
  • Adjust the amount of water if necessary; the pasta should be fully submerged.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for a nutritious twist.

Enjoy your Dump and Bake Meatball Casserole! This dish is perfect for a hearty family dinner and is great for those nights when you want a delicious meal with minimal effort.
