  4. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  5. 1 cup granulated sugar
  6. 2 large eggs
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. 1 cup milk

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  1. 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  2. 1 cup brown sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  1. 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  2. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  3. 2 cups powdered sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Make the Cake Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  3. Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. Assemble the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Drop half of the cinnamon swirl mixture by spoonfuls onto the cake batter. Swirl it through the batter with a knife. Repeat with the remaining cake batter and cinnamon swirl.
  5. Bake the Cake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
  6. Make the Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup butter together in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beating until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  7. Frost the Cake: Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cake.
  8. Serve: Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your homemade Cinnamon Roll Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting!
